about
One day, I (Brenna), woke up early to go meet my Love. Cool, darkness greeted me as I genuflected in the back of the chapel. Since it was still early, there was no need to turn on the air conditioning or the fan, so the chapel was perfectly silent, the only movement from the sanctuary candle, the reminder of Christ’s presence.
After a period of silence in front of Him, He gave me a great consolation. A feeling of hope, as the sun rose around me, filling the chapel with light! Hope that I had not felt in a long time, suddenly filled me, and it was as if God was blowing a new spirit, a new wind into my heart.
I grabbed my journal, and wrote down these lines: Here is a new wind! A new breath blows within my soul. My God never changing!! This heart he is raising, to a new song, to a new voice, a new heart for the glory of my God. Since no one was in the chapel yet, I took out my guitar, and quite quickly, a tune full of hope came to my fingers and thus, the chorus of New Wind was born.
lyrics
Waiting, holding on to the promise
For I know the sun will rise
Your voice reminds me who’s at the helm
The stars that shine give way to the light of a new day
And here is a new wind
A new breath blows within my soul
My God never changing, this heart He is raising
To a new song, to a new voice, a new heart for the glory of my God
Teach me ever new to yearn beyond my reach
For I know the sun will rise
Your call summons me and drives the dark away
Dawn finds me ready to welcome You my God
And here is a new wind
A new breath blows within my soul
My God never changing, this heart He is raising
To a new song, to a new voice, a new heart for the glory of
My God never changing, this heart He raising
To a new song, to a new voice, a new heart for Your glory
Give us a new song, and a new voice, and new hearts for the glory of Our God
